Gulf Coast Tick
It’s not only for the Gulf States anymore
In recent years, the Gulf Coast tick (Amblyomma maculatum) has spread northward to states like Virginia, and west to Oklahoma and Kansas—even Canada. Today, it is commonly found in the eastern United States with larger populations in the middle-southern region.
The Gulf Coast tick is known to transmit canine hepatozoonosis.
